Goldfield Ranch is located just East of Fountain Hills on State Route 87 (BeeLine Highway). Originally it was going to be Fountain Hills II. That plan was short lived with the Orme Dam project was defeated by the Ft. McDowell Indian Nation. The original plan was to flood the Verde River and Ft. McDowell to create Orme Lake. Obviously not with the approval of the Native Americans living there, but that’s another story.
